What are Evidence-Based Programs?
Evidence-based programs offer proven ways to promote health and prevent disease among older adults. Evidence-based programs build skills to take control of your health, from lowering the risk of falls to better managing chronic conditions, engaging in physical activity, and proactively managing mental health.
They are programs that have been rigorously tested and evaluated to determine their effectiveness providing evidence of health benefits.
Copper City Community Connection's Wellness Program offers three distinct EBPs Aging Mastery Program, Walk With Ease, and Bingocize.

The Aging Mastery Program (AMP) is an evidence-based program developed by National Council on Aging (NCOA). AMP encourages adults to take steps to support happiness and longevity. AMP includes 10 topics, that pair information on physical health, financial health, and life enrichment with action steps and activities. The classes will explore navigating longer lives, physical activity, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, medication management, advanced planning, healthy relationships, fall prevention, and community engagement. For each of these classes, we will provide basic educational materials developed from highly trusted sources, a checklist of potential next steps, and a system for tracking behaviors. Participants will earn points for positive actions and rewards.
To date, AMP has been hosted at more than 200 community sites across the country with 6,500 older adults participating.
